Plays.tv Raises $15m in Series A Funding

-

playstvPlays.tv, a Redwood City, CA-based platform for players to record, replay, and relive their games, raised $15m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Shasta Ventures with participation from an investment fund associated with the owners and executives of the San Francisco 49ers, basketball star Jeremy Lin, Accel Partners, Tenaya Capital, DAG Ventures and Founders Fund.

The company will use the funds to grow the platform and roll out new features.

Led by founder and CEO Dennis Fong, Plays.tv provides a platform for gamers to record, replay and relive their games. Users can create short-form video content with auto-edit, auto-tag, and auto-detect features from key PC games like League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League and Dota 2.
The platform is also continuing to improve the personalization of users’ feeds to offer the most relevant gaming content based on many factors, including a player’s gaming history, champion pool, favorite roles, favorite maps, and skill level.
