Capsule8 Secures $2.5m in Seed Funding

Capsule8, a New York City-based cybersecurity startup, secured $2.5m in seed funding.

Backers included Bessemer Venture Partners, Shardul Shah of Index Ventures and Jay Leek of ClearSky.

The company intends to use the funds to launch the platform this spring.

Founded by CEO John Viega, CTO Dino Dai Zovi and CSO Brandon Edwards, Capsule8 emerged from stealth mode to launch its container-aware, real-time threat protection platform designed to protect legacy and next-generation Linux infrastructures from both known and unknown attacks.
The platform will provide real-time threat protection that detects and prevents known and zero-day attacks in production infrastructure. Its security will span the entire Linux infrastructure in data centers and in the cloud as well as across virtual machines, bare metal, and containers.
