Healthcare venture capital firm Third Rock Ventures has added Sarah Larson as partner and chief human resources officer.
In the new role, Larson is responsible for human resources at the firm. She will also provide guidance and counsel to the Third Rock’s portfolio companies as they are building their organizational capabilities, focusing on areas of human capital, leadership development, and culture creation.
Larson has joined the firm from Foundation Medicine where she served as senior vice president, human resources since the company’s launch by Third Rock in 2010.
Her prior experience includes senior roles in human resources and recruiting in the life sciences industry.
Larson brings over 20 years of experience in human resources and leadership development, as well as the building of strong corporate cultures. Most recently, Larson served as senior vice president, human resources at Foundation Medicine, where she was responsible for total rewards, talent acquisition, and alignment of human resources.
Prior to that, Larson led the global human resources function at CombinatoRx (acquired by Horizon Discovery Group) and worked for several years as a recruiter and account manager at Cambridge Search, a search firm specializing in recruitment within the life sciences industry.
She holds a BA in Communications from Rivier College.
