Scandit Raises $7.5m in Series A Funding

Atomico, the global venture capital firm based in London, made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its platform and services and expand its international presence with new sales offices across the US and Europe.

Founded in 2009 by CEO Samuel Mueller, Scandit provides an enterprise mobility and data capture platform and cloud services that enable healthcare, retail, logistics, manufacturing and government organizations to build, deploy and manage mobile apps for smartphones, tablets and wearable devices.

The company provides:
– the Scandit Barcode Scanner software development kit (SDK), which allows companies to add scanning functionality to their own apps,
– workflow-based data capture solutions such as proof of delivery, inventory management and order entry – built on the Flow platform, and
– customizable mobile development tools and cloud services, which facilitate large-scale mobile data capture on smart devices and deliver real-time operational visibility into enterprise business processes.

Clients include Coop group, GE Healthcare, Home Depot, Macys, Shell, PostNL and Verizon.
