Kuli Kuli Raises $4.25m Series A Funding

kulikulifoodsKuli Kuli, an Oakland, Calif.-based manufacturer and distributor of moringa*-based products, raised $4.25m Series A funding.

The round was led by eighteen94 capital, Kellogg Company’s venture capital fund, with participation from InvestEco and S2G Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Simon Burton, managing director of eighteen94 capital, will join Kuli Kuli’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand globally.

Led by Lisa Curtis, Founder and CEO, Kuli Kuli is a moringa brand in the U.S. Its Moringa Superfood Bars, Pure Moringa Powder, and Moringa Green Energy Shots, provides a complete protein with all 9 essential amino acids.

*moringa is a complete plant protein, produced by trees grown in semiarid and tropical areas. Its leaves, pods and oil can provide a source of iron, calcium, Vitamin A, and other antioxidants.
