Handshake Raises $20M in Series B Funding

handshakeHandshake, a San Francisco, CA-based college career network, raised $20m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from current investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers, True Ventures, and Annox Capital Management. In conjunction with the funding, Megan Quinn of Spark is joining Handshake’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to build out new tools for career centers and employers.

Launched in 2014 by Garrett Lord, CEO, Handshake operates a career network and recruiting platform for college students and young alumni including over 170 U.S. universities, 3 million student profiles, 100,000 companies (including 95% of the Fortune 500) and 150,000 individual recruiters. Universities in the network include Stanford, Princeton, Michigan, Texas, Colorado State, DePaul, UC-Berkeley, UVA, Michigan State, Cal Tech, Morehouse, Spelman, Harvey Mudd, UGA, Wake Forest, and many others.
