Bury, UK-based UK Creative Media Limited (UKCM) received a funding package from Maven Capital Partners – managed Greater Manchester Loan Fund.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the roll-out of its personalized card and gift franchises.
Led by Kurt Abbott, UKCM has developed “Creation Express”, a range of innovative units through which customers can quickly create fully personalized cards and gifts, including ceramics such as mugs, money boxes and candle holders, sold to local high street UK stores including card and gift shops and local convenience stores.
The units have the infrastructure required to complete the whole production process including printers and heat pressers. Consumers upload pictures from devices such as mobile phones, SD cards, or USB drives and via social media such as Facebook, and craft their designs on a touch screen which has UKCM’s software in-built.
In less than a year, the company has sold its franchises into almost 200 retail outlets.
