The Hooch App Raises $1.7M in Funding

IMG_20161010_141339Hooch, a NY based provider of a members only cocktail and nightlife technology app, raised a $1.7m Pre-Series A interim funding round.

The round was led by Blue Scorpion Investments with participation from Access Industries founder Len Blavatnik, Burch Creative Capital’s Chris Burch, Shaun White, Russell Simmons and Dan and Dean Caten.

The company, which has raised $2.7m will use the funds to continue to expand adoption and operations in additional cities such as San Francisco and Las Vegas.

Launched in November 2015 by by Aleksey Kernes (Hotel Chantelle), tech industry expert Lin Dai (Keek, Emmis NY and Alloy Media + Marketing), and digital marketing entrepreneur Jared Christopherson (Yellow Hammer Ad Agency), the HOOCH App has created a virtual cocktail society that allows members to find the best bars to enjoy their favorite drinks, with close to 400 venues in nine markets (including New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Austin, San Diego, Phoenix and Hong Kong) in the US and internationally, at renowned locations including the Dream Hotels, Eataly, No.8, Laduree, etc.
As part of the brand’s expansion strategy, the HOOCH App has recently acquired New York nightlife apps Flux and Grotto, and Phoenix nightlife app Tipsy.
The app is available for free download in the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
