Notion AI Raises $9.5M in Series A Funding

notionNotion AI, Inc., an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based communications intelligence company, launched from stealth with $9.5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Drive Capital and Accel Partners, with participation from Hyde Park Venture Partners and Silicon Valley Bank.

The company intends to use the funds to expanded access to its cloud intelligence for desktop on Mac and Windows, via the Web, etc..

Founded in 2013 by CEO Guy Suter and technical co-founders Lindsay Snider and Ian Berry, Notion provides a platform that adds a layer of intelligence to personal communication tools. The company’s cloud intelligence analyzes the relationships behind communications to predict what’s important to users from the beginning. The Notion mobile email app, now available in the App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android, works with existing email services to understand which messages are most important to people and uncover the social network they already have, and which, until now, has been buried inside the email history.
