Mist Raises $28M in Series B Funding Round

mistMist, a Cupertino, CA-based smart wireless networking platform for smart devices, closed an over-subscribed $28m Series B financing.

The round was led by GV (formerly Google Ventures), with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, and Cisco Investments. In conjunction with the funding, Karim Faris, General Partner at GV, joined Mist’s Board of Directors.

The company, which has raised approximately $43m, will use the funds to grow sales and marketing resources, continue to invest in engineering and product development, develop a channel of Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and collaborate with ecosystem and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners.

Led by Sujai Hajela, CEO and co-founder, Mist provides a wireless platform that allows users to think centrally and act locally through a combination of cloud-based intelligence and on premises enterprise-grade Access Points. Built on a modern microservices cloud architecture, the solution uses machine learning to automate key tasks like event correlation, location, and clustering to simplify wireless operations and deliver personalized services to mobile users.
