KidPass Raises $1.2M in Seed Funding

kidpassKidPass, a NYC-based subscription service featuring a comprehensive network of kids’ classes in NYC, closed its latest round of seed funding of $1.2m.

Backers included:
Kevin Ryan (co-founder of DoubleClick, Business Insider, Gilt, MongoDB, Zola, Workframe, Nomad Health);
CoVenture (investors in Finova, Greycork, ProducePay, BranchingMinds);
TIA Ventures (investors in BentoBox, Bevi, ChargeItSpot);
Bionic Fund / David Kidder (co-founder of Bionic Solution, Clickable; investor in TapAd, Art.sy, Content.ly);
Stephano Kim, Timothy Chi, Lee Wang (co-founders of BlackBoard, WeddingWire); and
Thomas Lehrman (co-founder of Gerson Lehrman Group), among others.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations nationwide.

Led by Solomon Liou, Co-Founder and CEO, KidPass KidPass is a new website that allows parents to discover and book thousands of kids activities using a membership (starting at $49/month). Parents can get access to art classes, sports, playspaces, date-night drop-offs, music lessons, museums, and more at up to 75% off of traditional retail prices. Since its beta release in January, over 1,000 families have booked over 15,000 activities through the website.

The company has also released its new iOS app for discovery and booking of over 3,500 activities.
