Selency (fka Brocante Lab), a Paris, France-based second hand home furniture and decor e-commerce platform, raised €3m in funding.
The round was led by Accel Partners with participation from Kima Ventures and Thierry Petit. In conjunction with the funding, Accel’s Luciana Lixandru and Petit will join Selency’s board.
The company, which has raised €3.5m in total, will use the funds to continue to expand internationally.
Created in 2014 by Charlotte Cadé and Maxime Brousse, Selency by Brocante Lab is a community platform specializing in pre-owned furniture and decor items for dealers interested in vintage collectables or antiques and individuals. Categories on the web site include furniture, seating, lighting, decor and kids.
To grant user satisfaction using the platform, the company’s team daily checks all sellers and their listings to ensure members can enjoy a quality catalog. In addition, the company has two automated secure payment systems. Seller are paid into their account by direct transfer, while buyers can pay via their Paypal account and with bank card.
