Code Climate Raises $4.5M in Series A Funding

code_climateCode Climate, a NYC-based provider of a code quality testing platform, raised $4.5M in Series A funding.

Backers included Union Square Ventures (USV) and existing investors NextView Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Trinity Ventures and Fuel Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Albert Wenger, Managing Partner at USV, is joining Code Climate’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the paltform and expand operations.

Led by Bryan Helmkamp, CEO, Code Climate provides a SaaS based source code analytics platform that allows organizations to take control of their code quality.
Used by over 90,000 projects across 20+ programming languages and frameworks, and analyzing over 2 billion lines of code daily, Code Climate incorporates fully-configurable static analysis and test coverage data throughout the development workflow, making quality improvement explicit, continuous, and ubiquitous.
It is currently available as a hosted service at codeclimate.com, and an on-premises for large organizations.
Code Climate is, and always will be, free for open source.
