Triton Systems Receives $500k SBIR Grant

Triton Systems, Inc., a Chelmsford, MA-based global business venture company that launches innovative products and solutions in emerging markets worldwide, received a $500k SBIR Targeted Technologies (START) program Stage III grant.

MassVentures provided the funding.

The company intends to use the funds to commercialize its Traceptor™ chemical sensor for applications in defense, homeland security, environmental monitoring, and contraband detection markets.

Led by Ken Mahmud, Executive Vice President, and Ross Haghighat, Chairman and CEO, Triton has developed Traceptor, a sensing product line that can detect explosives, contraband, hazardous chemicals, and industrial materials for many security and industry needs including defense, homeland security, gas and oil, and environmental applications.
Founded in 1992, Triton combines in-house technical, business and financial expertise with targeted external resources to deliver creative solutions to the marketplace through licensed products, joint ventures and independent entities.
Company spinoffs, products and divisions include: FRX Polymers, Inc., Aduro Biotech, FRA Composites, Invexus, Si2 Technologies, VOmax and the Egret Bednet Tent.
