Pioneer Square Labs, a Seattle, WA-based startup studio, has started operations with the spin out of LumaTax, a sales tax automation solution for small businesses.
Launched a year ago by Greg Gottesman, Geoff Entress, Mike Galgon and Ben Gilbert, PSL teams with entrepreneurs to validate new business ideas, secure venture funding and help build the resulting spinouts into companies and is working on several other projects.
The studio, which has spun out two additional companies and plans announcements for those companies shortly, closed on $12.5m from 14 venture capital firms and over 50 top angel investors in late 2015.
The studio’s team includes senior software engineers, designers, architects and digital marketing experts.
