OurCrowd, a global equity crowdfunding platform, closed a $72m Series C funding round.
Backers included financial institutions, family offices, and private investors from five continents.
The company intends to use the funds to grow both in Singapore and in the Asian markets.
Founded in Israel and led by CEO Jon Medved, OurCrowd is a global equity crowdfunding platform for accredited investors. Managed by a team of investment professionals, OurCrowd vets and selects opportunities, invests its own capital, and brings companies to its accredited membership of global investors. It also provides post-investment support to its portfolio companies, assigns industry experts as mentors, and takes board seats.
The community includes almost 15,000 investors from over 110 countries has invested over $300M into 100 portfolio companies and funds.
It has had nine exits to date including two IPOs and seven acquisitions. These include ReWalk (IPO: Nasdaq), Crosswise (bought by Oracle), Replay Technologies (bought by Intel), and NextPeer (bought by Viber).
