kustomerKustomer, a NYC-based provider of a SaaS-based customer relationship platform, raised $10m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Canaan Partners with participation from Boldstart Ventures, Social Leverage, BoxGroup and Plug and Play Ventures and individual angels George Hu, the former COO of Salesforce, Alex Bard, CEO of Campaign Monitor and former executive vice president and general manager at Service Cloud (Salesforce), and Jeff Leventhal, founder and former CEO of Work Market. Combined with a previous seed round of $2.5 million, Kustomer has raised $12.5 million in funding to date.

Co-founded by CEO Brad Birnbaum and CTO Jeremy Suriel, Kustomer is to launch a SaaS-based customer relationship platform that integrates applications and data to allow service teams to understand and respond to customer needs. Already in beta with trial customers, the solution employs a predictive, timeline-based approach that treats customers like people instead of “tickets” and gives service agents what they need to operate a customer relationship in a single solution.
