Canvas Ventures Closes New $300M Venture Capital Fund

Canvas Ventures, a Portola Valley, CA-based venture capital firm, closed a new $300M fund.

Closed in June 2016, Canvas Ventures 2 will focus on Silicon Valley – based software & services startups developing artificial intelligence, fintech, digital health and new enterprise solutions as well as on network marketplaces investing primarily in their Series A & B rounds. The firm invests $5-20M per company over its life with initial commitments ranging from $250k to $10M.

Led by partners Rebecca Lynn (appeared on the Forbes Midas List of top-100 venture investors in 2015 and 2016), Gary Little (appeared on the list in 2008 and 2009), Paul Hsiao, and Ben Narasin, Canvas is an early-stage venture capital firm whose portfolio companies include FutureAdvisor (acquired by BlackRock), CrowdFlower, Eden, Everwise, HealthLoop, Totango, Transfix, Viewics, and Zola.
The previous fund was capitalized at $175M in August 2013.
