BeeLine Raises £500k in Funding

Beeline_HorizontalBeeLine, a London, UK-based connected navigation hardware and app for urban cyclists, raised over £500k in seed funding.

Backers included TrueStart, Seedcamp, the London Co-Investment Fund, EarlyMarket, Andy Murray and over 300 private individuals as investors (who invested via Seedrs).

The company intends to use the funds to grow the tech team and expand its product capabilities.

Founded in April 2015 by Mark Jenner and Tom Putnam, BeeLine provides a Bluetooth connected handle bar-mounted device and an accompanying smartphone app that allow urban cyclists to navigate and discover the city, pick their own path, unlike most navigation devices that use turn-by-turn GPS navigation.
BeeLine shows only the direct distance and direction to the rider’s destination. Cased in ABS plastic and secured to the handlebar by a silicone strap, the device can be easily attached to a keyring or a bag.

The company works in partnership with a London industrial design agency, Map Project Office, founded by Barber and Osgerby.
