AgentVi-logo_originalAgent Video Intelligence (Agent Vi), a Tel Aviv, Israel-based video analytics company, raised $4.3m in funding.

Backers included KuangChi Science Limited, a member of the Kuang-Chi Group, via a $300m Global Community of Innovation (GCI) fund launched earlier this year, and Motorola Solutions, which first invested in Agent Vi in 2012.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its engineering, sales and management teams, opening local offices to serve its client base in China, Southeast Asia and Europe.

Founded in 2003 and led by CEO Itsik Kattan, Agent Vi provides a video analytics platform that gives customized analytics across safe city, infrastructure, transport, retail and other applications. Operating through hundreds of integrators and resellers, the company’s solutions turn surveillance cameras into intelligent sensors that automatically analyze, detect and search massive volumes of video through its cloud interface.
