Summa Receives Majority Investment from Gimv

Summa, a Gistel, Belgium-based manufacturer of cutters for the graphic design industry, received a majority investment from Gimv.

The management of the company invested next to Gimv in this transaction.

The company intends to use the funds for geographical expansion and release new innovative products.

Founded in 1973 and led by CEO Erwin Vandousselaere, Summa is a European market leader in roll cutters that can cut flexible materials on rolls. Flatbed cutters allow hard materials to be cut into complex shapes. Both types of machines are used by the graphic design industry in the final cutting process of cardboard, fabric, vinyl, acrylic sheets, etc. Its worldwide sales go through an international dealer network.

In 2015, the company had 52 employees and achieved a turnover of €17.7m.
