Volition Capital Closes Third Venture Capital Fund, at $250M

volitionVolition Capital, a Boston, MA-based technology growth equity firm, closed its latest fund, with $250m in capital commitments.

Volition Capital Fund III, L.P., will enable the firm to continue to invest in high growth, principally bootstrapped, technology companies.

Led by and Sean Cantwell, Roger Hurwitz and Larry Cheng, Managing Partners, Volition Capital focuses on investing in software/SaaS, enterprise and consumer Internet applications, technology-enabled services, and mobile companies with the following characteristics:
– $5M – $25M+ Run-Rate
– 25%-100%+ Revenue Growth
– 20%+ Founder Ownership
– Near Breakeven to Profitable
The new fund will continue to be focused on making a select group of new investments each year with $5m to $40m invested per company with investments used by its portfolio companies for growth capital, acquisition capital and shareholder liquidity.

To date, the firm has managed over 20 portfolio companies with over $500m in assets under management.
