Valor Water Analytics, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a water loss and efficiency analytics platform to utilities, raised $1.6m in funding.
The round was led by Shore Ventures II with participation from Apsara Capital, Syzygy West, Urban Innovation Fund, and 500 Startups.
The company will use the capital to expand its business across the United States and to deploy its technology for a large channel partnership just signed, extend its business into additional utility verticals and develop their analytics portfolio beyond meter data and into sensor-based technologies.
Founded in 2013 by Christine E. Boyle, PhD, Valor provides utilities with technology-optimized, analytics solutions to inform financial and resource decision-making. Based on a set of analytical methodologies developed at the Environmental Finance Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the company’s solution can transform quantitative and qualitative data into actionable decision points that address current utility customer engagement and revenue challenges.
