Tigera Closes $13m Series A Funding

tigeraTigera, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based platform for securing cloud-native applications, closed a $13m Series A funding.

The round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) with participation from Wing Venture Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Ron Bernal, Venture Partner at NEA; Aaron Jacobson, Principal at NEA; and Peter Wagner, Founding Partner at Wing joined Tigera’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its engineering capacity and continue to foster the community around Calico, a policy-driven networking solution for cloud environments including Docker, Kubernetes, Tectonic, Apache Mesos, DC/OS, and OpenStack, Canal, a joint initiative between Tigera and CoreOS, which integrates Calico’s advanced policy capabilities with the cloud networking options offered by the Flannel networking solution.

Led by Andy Randall, CEO, Tigera provides integrated, secure, policy-driven cloud-native networking solutions for enterprises looking for secure application and workload delivery across private, public and hybrid clouds, which integrate with all major cloud-native environments including Kubernetes, Tectonic, DC/OS, Apache Mesos, Docker Swarm, Apache Brooklyn and OpenStack.
