Sports App Bvddy Raises $1.5M in Series A Funding

-

bvddyBvddy, a Miami, Florida-based sports app, raised $1.5m in pre-Series A funding.

The round was led by IDC Group (Grupo IDC), and former BlueKite CEO and current Paypal executive Bobby Aitkenhead.

The company will use the capital to expand into San Francisco, Los Angeles and other major U.S. cities in 2016, as well as to launch the app on Android.

Launched in 2015 by CEO Pedro Ast, Bvddy has developed a new technology tool that enables sports players to find and connect with sports partners. The app features proprietary Smart Matching algorithms that learn about players over time, including how often they play, location, actual skill level, punctuality, and competitive spirit, to provide accurate matches.
Bvddy is currently available in the Apple App Store.
