Messaging app Snapchat – which has just raised an astounding $1.8 billion round – reportedly acquired Seene, a San Francisco- and London, UK-based computer vision startup.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Led by Andrew McPhee, CEO, Sam Hare, CTO, and Mike Evans, Seene has developed an app that allows people to capture and share 3D scenes, videos, gifs or JPEGs. Seene, which supported Google Cardboard on both Android and iOS, enables users to refocus and blur photos after taking them by adjusting the depth of field as well as to download a JPEG with depth data to create their own 3D content and experiences.

The acquired company had raised $600k from Jeremie Berrebi, Scott McPhee, Richard Fearn, Ben Wirz, Kima Ventures and Knight Foundation.
