Remote Notarization Platform Notarize Raises $8M in Series A Financing

notarize-logoNotarize, an Alexandria, VA-based provider of a remote notarization platform, secured $8m in Series A financing.

The round was led by Polaris Partners with participation from Founder’s Fund, Ludlow Ventures and other individual investors. In conjunction with the funding, Polaris Partners Managing Partner Dave Barrett joined Notarize’s board.

The company, which has raised $10.45m to date, intends to use the funds to expand operations.

Founded in May 2015 by Pat Kinsel, CEO, and Adam Pase, COO, Notarize provides a remote notarization service to faster turnaround times and increase productivity with reduced complexity and human error, based on technology having several applications in many industries, including financial services, real estate and legal.
The company has partnered with the National Notary Association (NNA), a large notary association, which will be assisted with training and certification of Notarize’s electronic notaries and will enable the platform’s agents to tap into the NNA’s community and support services.

Notarize’s team also includes Dan Tangherlini, Principal of Government, Operations, and Michael Chodos, General Counsel, and Alexander Jenkins, Vice President of Product.
