Forge, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based provider of video capture and sharing services for gameplay, raised $4.5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by True Ventures with participation from new investors Social Capital and gaming hardware manufacturer NZXT and existing backers Resolute Ventures and WME Ventures. In conjuntion with the funding, Arjun Sethi, Partner at Social Capital, joined Forge’s Board of Directors.
The company, which has raised a total of $9m since the launch of its public beta in February 2016, intends to use the funds to continue to develop the platform and expand operations.
Led by Jared Kim, CEO and founder, Forge provides everyday PC gamers with a platform to share their favorite gaming moments through short, looping video clips that can be shared on the Forge network and other social media channels, without having to exit their game.
Gamers can also livestream their gameplay to Twitch or YouTube.
