Tulipop ehf., the Reykjavik, Iceland-based design company behind the Tulipop world and characters, raised $2M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Frumtak Ventures, a new investor in the company, and Þorbergur ehf., a current shareholder.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth.
Created by celebrated Icelandic illustrator and product designer Signý Kolbeinsdóttir and Helga Arnadottir, CEO, Tulipop has developed a popular character goods brand, built around the magical Tulipop island and its inhabitants.
The company has brought to market a range of quality gift items for kids of all ages, an an app and story book based on the Tulipop world, selling its products across 120 stores in 14 countries.
In 2015, Tulipop signed a licensed merhandise deal with Toynami, an American toy company.
