Catering Software Startup Spoonfed Raises £585K in Funding

spoonfedSpoonfed, an Edinburgh, Scotland, UK-based software-as-a-service catering software startup, raised £585K in a second round of funding.

Backers included angel investment syndicate Equity Gap, private US and Channel Islands investors and the Scottish Investment Bank, the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate international growth, further enhance the functionality, and hire new people.

Launched in 2013 by Willie Biggart and Murray McNicol, Spoonfed provides a SaaS-based system for single and multi-site catering management used for online ordering, production planning, route planning, invoicing, email marketing to customers including high-street chains, independent sandwich retailers and contract catering businesses throughout the UK, in USA, Canada and Australia.
