Automated Enrolment Pension Smart Pension Raises £3.3M in Series A Funding

smartpensionSmart Pension, a London, UK-based provider of an automated enrolment pension platform for businesses, raised £3.3m in Series A funding.

Backers included angels Ed Asseily, Tom Valentine, and William Reeve. In addition to the funding, Duncan Howorth, former CEO of Jardine Lloyd Thompson PLC, joined Smar Pension’s board along with Anthony Joliffe, who will join as chairman.

The company, which has raised £5m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to contineun to grow operations.

Led by co-founder and CEO Andrew Evans, MD Will Wynne, COO Peter Walker, Smart Pension provides a tech pension platform for UK businesses to manage auto enrolment. The company’s adviser platform allows accountants, bookkeepers, payroll bureaus and payroll software providers, HR, independent financial and other advisers to manage a portfolio of clients through auto enrolment.
