Venture Capital Firm Menlo Ventures Adds Jordan Ormont as Talent Partner

Jordan_ormontMenlo Park-based venture capital firm Menlo Ventures has hired Jordan Ormont in the role of Talent Partner.

The hiring completes FUEL, the firm’s venture services program aimed at supporting companies in developing and executing go-to-market strategies
in the four key areas of Sales, Marketing, Customer Development, and Talent.
The program is now led by a team of 4 professionals including:
– Jim Dawson (former VP Sales at 3Par and FusionIO), who leads the sales pillar and focuses on helping companies design their sales strategies and teams;
– Jenny Saling, who leads the marketing pillar focused on marketing strategy and PR;
– Kayla Hinderscheid, who focuses on partner and customer network development; and
– Ormont, who will complete the program by advising entrepreneurs on designing and defining effective teams and helping them recruit executive and board talent.

Prior to joining Menlo Ventures, Jordan Ormont was a Senior Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers, where he supported entrepreneurs in organization design, board recruiting and executive team-building and worked with growth companies including MyFitnessPal, Shyp, Chegg, RentTheRunway, Shazam, OKL, Zynga, NEST, Juicero, Spruce, LifeLock and Synack.
Prior to Kleiner Perkins, Ormont was a principal at Howard Fischer Associates.

Led by managing director Matt Murphy, Menlo Ventures provides seed and growth capital to consumer and enterprise technology companies in such areas as mobile/mobile marketplaces, social & ecommerce, Cloud, dtorage & Big Data, digital advertising, and security.
The firm has $4.65 billion under management and is currently investing Menlo Ventures XII, a $400m fund with $15m allocated to the Menlo Talent Fund for fast seed funding, and the Menlo Opportunity Fund, a $250 fund that targets solely early growth investments.
The portfolio includes more than 70 public companies and more than 100 mergers and acquisitions.
