Venture Capital Firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers to Raise Two Funds Totalling $1.3 Billion

kpcbAccording to CNBC, popular Silicon Valley based venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers is raising two funds.

The report – citing sources familiar with the matter – says that the two vehicles will total nearly $1.3 billion, including an approx. $800m growth fund and an approx. $500m early stage fund.

Based in Menlo Park, San Francisco, Shanghai and Beijing, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers focuses on investing in what it calls world-changing businesses, in all stages from seed and incubation to growth companies. Beyond capital, it provides entrepreneurs with operating experience,  an influential network, and acceleration opportunities through expertise and support in recruiting, product design and delivery, business development, strategic partnerships and brand building.

The firm has invested in such companies as Amazon, Electronic Arts, Genentech, Google, Nest, Netscape and Twitter.

Among others, the team includes Mike Abbott, Lynne Chou O’Keefe, John Doerr, Eric Feng, Creighton Hicks, Wen Hsieh, Randy Komisar, Swati Mylavarapu, Shabih Rizvi, Beth Seidenberg, Muzzammil Zaveri, Arielle Zuckerberg, Dino Becirovic, Cindy Cheng, Alexander Krey, Alex Kurland, Mary Meeker, Mood Rowghani, Ted Schlein, and Alex Tran.
