Pivotal Closes $253M Series C Funding

pivotalPivotal, a San Francisco, CA-based company accelerating digital transformation for enterprises, closed a $253m Series C funding round. 

The round was led by new investor Ford Motor Company, with participation from Microsoft and previous investors GE, EMC, and VMware.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its global reach.

Led by Rob Mee, CEO, Pivotal provides an enterprise cloud native platform that allows Fortune 1000 companies to build new software quickly, as well as to operate applications central to running their businesses. The company now works with large automotive, banking, telecommunications, insurance, and retail companies. The customer list includes GE, Ford, Verizon, Home Depot, Comcast, Humana, Lockheed Martin, and Allstate.

The company has over 2,000 employees and 17 offices worldwide.
