Home Chef, a Chicago, IL-based meal kit delivery service, secured $10m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Shining Capital and Guild Capital.
The company, which expects to raise additional capital in the near future, intends to use the funds to continue expansion of its consumer services and open a distribution facility on the West Coast.
Led by Pat Vihtelic, Founder and CEO, Home Chef is a meal kit delivery service providing fresh ingredients and recipes to households across the U.S.
The company offers thirteen meals that can be selected from a new menu every week, with step-by-step instructions for dishes made at home.
Home Chef is now delivering over 540,000 meals per month for $9.95 per serving, unless otherwise specified, and the team currently staffs more than 400 employees.
