Gamified Social Sports Prediction Platform SportsHero Raises $2.4M in Funding

SportsHero, a Singapore-based real-time fantasy sports app and social prediction platform, raised $2.4m in funding.

The round was led by Australia-based Nevada Iron Ltd (ASX:NVI).

The company intends to use the funds to expand partner and user acquisition across Asia, including priority markets China, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as Europe, South America, and the U.S.

SportsHero is a gamified social sports prediction platform where users can predict, interact and compete on all major sports – virtually, and in real-time. Founded by Singapore-based MyHero Pte Ltd., by Dinesh Bhatia, CEO, the company rebranded a previous app – FootballHero – to include a broader sporting focus.
The iOS and Android app allows sports fans to make better predictions on the outcomes of games by harnessing the power of all the other sports fans in its social community with validated prediction results and social sentiment.
Sports included in the app at launch are football (soccer), and baseball (Major League Baseball), with Tennis, American Football (National Football League), and Basketball (NBA), with hockey (NHL) in development.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, SportsHero plans to roll out support for additional sports including golf, table tennis, and badminton.

SportsHero aims to list on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) by August 2016 via a reverse takeover of Nevada Iron.
