Cookie Chips, a Gardena, CA-based brand of bite-sized cookies, received a growth equity investment from Alliance Consumer Growth, a consumer-focused private equity firm.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Originally conceived by Founder & CEO Joanne Adirim, a pastry chef, Cookie Chips offers snacks made with non-GMO ingredients including real butter and cage-free eggs, and contain no artificial flavors, sweeteners, coloring, preservatives or trans-fats. The company currently sells an assortment of six core flavors (Original, Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon Sugar, Sea Salted Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Raisin), three gluten free flavors (Chocolate Chip, Lemon Sugar and Snappy Ginger), and two seasonal flavors (Gingered Gingerbread and Harvest Pumpkin).
Cookie Chips are currently sold in conventional and natural grocery stores across the United States and Canada, with plans to expand distribution in the years to come.
In addition to ACG’s investment, the company Cookie Chips has recruited Josie Padilla, who has joined as CFO & COO, and Frank Zampardi, who has joined as Senior Vice President of Sales.
