ChargePoint Raises $50M in Venture Capital Funding

chargepointChargePoint, a Campbell, California-based provider of a network of electric vehicle charging stations, raised $50m in funding.

The round was led by Linse Capital with participation from Braemar Energy Ventures, Constellation Energy, Statoil Energy Ventures, Envision Ventures, Jan Klatten, Michael Liebreich and Rick Wagoner. In addition to the funding, Bruce Chizen, former Adobe CEO, has been named as Chairman of the ChargePoint board.

The company, which has raised more than $164m in total funding, intends to use the capital to scale operations and its model globally.

Led by Pasquale Romano, CEO, ChargePoint operates a EV network extending across more than 28,000 charging spots in North America. Stations are independently owned and operated. In 2015, the company also entered the residential market with the introduction of networked home products and charging services for apartments and condominiums.
