Virtual Instruments, a Sa Jose, CA-based provider of real-time infrastructure performance management platform, has merged with Load DynamiX, a provider of storage performance analytics platform.
In addition, HighBar Partners will lead a new $20m investment round into the combined company. Additional investors in the new company include Azure Capital Partners, Kinetic Ventures and Benhamou Global Ventures, the investment fund founded by Eric Benhamou, former CEO of 3Com.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate joint innovation in the IT infrastructure market and to create an end-to-end infrastructure DevOps platform focused on performance analytics to enable applications and infrastructure to work better together.
Under the terms of the deal, the combined entity will retain the name Virtual Instruments and will be led by Philippe Vincent, the current president and CEO of Load DynamiX. The combination will enable Virtual Instruments to offer new and existing customers an infrastructure performance analytics product portfolio, capable of delivering actionable infrastructure performance insights across physical, virtual and cloud environments.
The new executive management team includes Vincent, CFO Kevin McDonnell, Senior VP of Sales Warren Bell, CMO Len Rosenthal, CTO John Gentry, Senior VP of Products Tim Van Ash, and Senior VP of Services Bo Barker.
