SparkLabs Appoints Eugene Kim as General Partner in Seoul, Korea

sparklabs_logoSparkLabs, an Asian startup accelerator, appointed Eugene Kim as a General Partner for SparkLabs in Seoul, Korea.

Kim will be responsible for SparkLabs investments into the early stage startups in Korea and running all aspects of the accelerator operations which now includes two locations and three programs.
He joins the existing six founding partners as a general partner of SparkLabs bringing more than 16 years of experience in working with startups and technology companies.
Most recently, Kim was Principal of SparkLabs in charge of the day to day operation of the accelerator program. He was the first employee to join SparkLabs and has been instrumental in growing SparkLabs’ presence in Korea.
Prior to joining SparkLabs, Kim served as Director of Global Business Development at Tencent Korea.
Prior to Tencent, he was Director of Business Development and Marketing at Podotree, which was acquired by Kakao.
His career in technology started with Korea’s SK group, where he was a part of the team that first launched Korea’s first IPTV service.

South Korean SparkLabs is an accelerator focusing on startup companies from the Internet, online gaming, mobile, e-commerce, digital media and healthcare sectors. The three month mentorship-driven program provides funding, office space, a structure program and access to a network of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and executives.
