Allyke, a Wellesley, MA-based maker of a visual shopping platform, raised $1.3m in seed funding.
Backers included Benedetta Casamento, CEO of luxury lifestyle brand Calypso St. Barth and a retail and fashion expert, and Joe Caruso, a startup advisor for more than 20 years, making early investments in companies like Hubspot, Constant Contact, and Carbonite. In conjunction with the funding, both will join the company’s board.
The company intends to use the funds for further product development, marketing and team expansion.
Led by founder and CEO Greg Moeller, Allyke has created a visual shopping platform for enterprise retailers to let consumers shop naturally, using images rather than keywords and increasing conversion across online, in store, and mobile channels.
