1776-logoWashington, D.C. – based global innovation network 1776 raised $7.2m in strategic investment.

The round was led by Pepper Group, a global financial services company quoted on the Australian Stock Exchange with additional offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain and South Korea, with participation from globally focused investors including Revolution founder Steve Case, Kiddar Capital and K Street Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its global networks.

Led by co-founders and co-CEOs Donna Harris and and Evan Burfield, 1776 is the global innovation network that supports startups through the 1776 Seed Fund. It also operates the Challenge Cup and Startup Federation, a network of incubators throughout the world, and organizes events where entrepreneurs, change-makers, and policy leaders convene to foster a global community around trends in innovation.
