GreatHorn, a Belmont, MA-based cloud communication security provider, raised $2.25m in seed funding.
The round was led by ff Venture Capital and SoftTech VC, with participation from Techstars Ventures, RRE, and Walter Winshall, alongside existing investors Zelkova Ventures and V1.VC.
The company intends to use the funds to expand both existing and new product lines, grow its operations in the US, and further accelerate its sales and marketing reach across globally.
Led by Kevin O’Brien, CEO & Co-Founder, GreatHorn provides a cloud native communication security platform natively integrated into email platforms like Google Apps and Office 365 to allow organizations to detect advanced spear phishing attacks traditionally missed by email security gateways, cloud access security brokers, and traditional anti-spam/anti-virus tools.
Since release in October of 2015 as part of the Techstars 2015 NYC program, the olution has protected over 10,000 email mailboxes from threat daily, and a data set that comprised more than 50,000,000 analyzed messages in the past quarter alone.
