Blackrun Ventures Launches Women-Focused Half the World Holdings Investment Platform

Blackrun_logoBlackrun Ventures, a global investment platform, has launched a new investment vehicle, Half the World Holdings, focused on women.

Half the World Holdings supports businesses for which women are the end consumer focusing on critical aspects of their lives where there is potential significant impact and global financial opportunity.

As part of the launch, Blackrun has signed two term sheets:
– EmbraceHer, a maternal health technology company co-founded in 2010 by CEO Denise Terry, a serial Silicon Valley entrepreneur, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jan Rydfors, an assistant adjunct clinical professor at Stanford University Medical Center, which allows mothers to get access to personalized maternal health guidance through an app, Pregnancy Companion M.D., used by more than half a million pregnant women; and
– Siren, a Seattle, WA-based relationship platform co-founded by CEO Susie Lee, a Yale and Columbia-educated entrepreneur, and COO Katrina Hess, a seasoned management and design consultant.
