Atom Bank Acquires Grasp

atombankAtom Bank, a Durham, UK-based digital bank, acquired Grasp (UK) Limited, a Gateshead, UK-based IT development business.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition will allow Atom to create engaging user experience in banking via Grasp’s web and mobile visual/UX design capabilities.

As part of the deal, Brian Jobling, head of Grasp (UK) Limited, will become Business Development Director at Atom. The development team from Grasp will now join Atom to bring to the company their experience in working with some of the biggest consumer brands in the world including projects with F1, NASCAR, MTV and James Bond.

Led by CEO Mark Mullen, Atom is a startup bank authorized by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the PRA. Founded over a year ago, Atom has a team of 160 people who are working to build a bank designed specifically for digital, offering engaging ways to manage money.
The service has not yet launched.
