Global early stage venture capital firm 500 Startups is launching a $30m Canadian fund.
The fund, called 500 Canada (#500CAN), aims to make 150+ investments into early-stage startups in over the next few years focusing on capital-efficient businesses that can achieve profitability with less than $1M in total investment.
Led by Sanjay Singhal, the fund will have partners or associates in each major innovation centre, including Vancouver, Waterloo, Toronto, Montreal, and Fredericton.
Led by Dave McClure, #96 in the 2016 Forbes Midas List, 500 Startups has already invested in 37 companies out of its Silicon Valley main funds.
