Vimoc Technologies, Inc., a Mountain View, CA-based provider of “Smart City” infrastructure and services, completed the $2.4m first closing of its initial round of seed funding.
The round, which is expected to close within February, was led by Morado Ventures with participation from Flextronics Lab IX and ET Capital Partners, and angels Ted Lachowicz, Eugene Rosenfeld and Glenn Turner.
The company will use the funds to expand adoption of its products and services as well as for growth of its product offerings.
Led by Tarik Hammadou, Co-Founder and CEO, Vimoc Technologies provides an open distributed computing platform that offers security and management of smart infrastructure services. Its solution for the “Understanding of Things (UoT)” enables citizens, businesses and cities to gather knowledge and intelligence to better manage resources and create operational efficiency. Its services can be used by Infrastructure Service Providers to deliver a new generation of applications, while city officials, businesses and the public can leverage not only sensory intelligence but also computing resources to correlate specific sensory data with inputs from a wide variety of additional sensors.
