Hobnob, a Honolulu, Hawaii-based text-based event invite startup, raised $2.25M in seed funding.
Backers included Norwest Venture Partners, Aspect Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Greycroft.
The company intends to use the funds to launch an Android version within 2016, expand the employee base, add to their invite design catalog, and continue to add new features.
Launched in August of 2014 by Tina Fitch (CEO), Mark Quezada (CTO), and Tiffany Quezada (Design Lead), Hobnob aims to remove the friction of real life gatherings, encouraging personal interactions offline via a mobile first event invite and communication service that allows people at events to chat, RSVP, or share event photos.
The service is currently available for iOS, mobile web, and a native messaging client.
The company has a team of 6.
