Battery Ventures Closes Two New Funds Totaling $950M

battery_venturesGlobal investment firm Battery Ventures closed two new funds, totaling $950M.

These include Battery Ventures XI, a $650m vehicle, and Battery Ventures XI Side Fund, a $300m fund intended to support larger investments.

As with its predecessor funds, Battery X and Battery X Side Fund, totaling $900m, and raised in February 2013, Battery will continue to target investments at stages ranging from seed to private equity, deploying capital in increments of a few hundred thousand dollars up to deals worth $100m for large growth and private-equity opportunities.
Key investment sectors include application software/SaaS; IT infrastructure, including areas such as cloud computing, big-data technology and cybersecurity; consumer Internet and mobile; and industrial technology.

Founded in 1983, the firm will continue to make investments globally, with the majority of deals in North America, Israel and Europe.
Battery has offices in Boston, Menlo Park, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Herzliya, Israel.
