Armadio Verde, a Milan, Italy-based children’s clothing marketplace and exchange platform, closed the first tranche of €1.3m funding round.
Backers included Innogest SGR, LigurCapital, A11-Venture and other private investors. According to a note, Gruppo Espresso participated via the provision of cross-media advertising services.
The company will use the funds to continue to develop the platform, increase marketing and recruitment efforts, and grow in Italy and across Europe.
Co-founded by Eleonora Dellera and David Erba, Armadio Verde provides a service that allows parents to send to unused children clothing. Once received, the Armadio Verde’s team analyzes the quality of the pieces and assign a quality score, expressed in stars. Parents can either use this score to choose clothing to exchange from the online store (and paying a €5 service fee for each piece) or buy other items choosing from the site collection.
In twelve months, the platform has had 500k unique vistors with 100k visits in January 2016, with 2.7k transactions in total.
